Jesus could have been the most popular mega pastor this world had ever seen. There was a time in His ministry where it was no longer wise to enter any civilized area due to His tremendous popularity(Mark 1:45).
On the other hand, Jesus intentionally fled from the opportunity of establishing any earthly authority or influence(John 6:15).
Instead of building and establishing His own credibility, Jesus would often test people to the point where many of His followers would leave Him (John 6:60-69).
Instead of seeking to influence the masses, Jesus consistently hedged His bets on a few, faithful followers who were completely devoted to serving the same God He called Father.
This strategy is quite uncommon today. Most people looking to influence the world today, even people in the church, are all about expansion, expansion, expansion.
Jesus was all about Commitment.
He made more time for the few than the many.
More than 2 billion people call on the name of Jesus today based on the acts of 120(Acts 1:15) faithful followers nearly 2,000 years ago!
Jesus’ ministry model is still effective today.
Who are the few people in your corner whom you could be building up?
Changing the world is often out of our reach, but changing someone’s world doesn’t seem so far fetched.
What could you do today that could lift someone’s spirit?
Who do you need to be more intentional with and how can you encourage them and develop them over the long term?
Let’s be people who don’t leave the people below us or less experienced than us out on a limb.
Let’s be people who bow low to serve a generation of upcoming giants.
