A Reason To Celebrate
Every year people from around the world celebrate Easter, the resurrection of our King.
Even in the midst of our current struggles, we lay aside our burdens and take a moment to find joy in our hearts for what Jesus has done for us.
Truly, may the truth that He has risen bring you joy and peace in these trying times.
As followers of Jesus, however, it’s easy to get hung up on what Jesus has done.
This is not all bad. Still, let us remember Jesus’ purpose on earth was not only to defeat death himself but also end suffering for all.
Celebrating the Future
“‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”” – Revelation 21:4 NIV
We must remind ourselves the story of Jesus is as much about the return of the King as it is about the resurrection of the King.
Truly, the horizons of Jesus’ kingdom is brighter than the history of Jesus’ kingdom.
Celebrating the Present
As we continue with our festive celebrations of Resurrection Sunday, let us also continue the joyful tribulation of building His kingdom.
When it comes to building His kingdom, we also celebrate the idea of freedom.
Jesus is building His kingdom His own way! Jesus said,
“I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” – Matthew 16:18b NIV
Past, Present, and Future
From the beginning of the resurrection to the triumphant return, history will be re-written with His-story.
We celebrate His past, we celebrate the present, we also celebrate His future.
“He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’ Then he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’ He said to me: ‘It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.’” – Revelation 21:5-6a NIV
Let us find strength and encouragement that better days are coming soon.
