Love Is An Action

Observations

Love acted 2,000 years ago when Jesus died for us.

Love acted when a small group of disciples spread His message of redemption from Rome to as far as India.

LOVE still ACTS today through the body of believers we call the church.

Applications

Are we turning the love we receive from God into action?

After all, the 5th book of the New Testament is not called the feelings of the apostles, nor the beliefs of the apostles, nor the opinions of the apostles. We know the 5th book today as the acts of the apostles.

Have we reduced our love for God to how we feel about Him?

Have we reduced our faith to simply our beliefs or our opinions?

I’m sure it wasn’t convenient to die on that cross.

I’m sure it wasn’t easy to walk thousands of miles or sail across rivers and seas to spread the Gospel message.

Have we reduced our love for God and others to what is convenient and easy for us? What are we doing today to turn God’s love for His people into action?

Prayer

God, help me to love people even when I lack the feelings that often accompany love.

Help me to love even beyond what is convenient or comfortable to me.

Help me to relentlessly pursue You with all my heart.
